Project S.N.A.P. (Senior’s Nutritious Affordable Plates) aims to educate senior citizens at the Westminster Senior Center about nutrition and healthy and affordable food options. The goal of this program is to bring awareness to the importance of nutrition for seniors to protect against age-related illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis.

T
o serve the population of low-income senior citizens, recipes and nutritional advice are catered towards affordable and budget-friendly options. Each lesson consists of a well-researched and visually engaging slideshow presentation with budget-friendly recipes that are affordable and accessible for underserved populations. These presentations are followed by an interactive crossword and word search that is intellectually stimulating. During this activity portion, volunteers work with and talk to the seniors.
